IOP and PHP Therapeutic Support.

Our Team

Small by design. The clinicians who run this practice are the same ones who sit with you in the hard moments.

The people behind the mission.

As Founder & CEO, she built Therapeutic Freedom TX to be the kind of care she wants for herself and her brothers and sisters-in-arms: real support, no red tape, no one slipping through the cracks.

She's a licensed clinical social worker and a U.S. military Veteran who created our Veterans & First Responders program from lived experience alongside Dr. Kierra.

Off the clock, she's usually planning her next trip, floating in the ocean, or recharging somewhere quiet with a journal (and a Starbucks Doubleshot that is, frankly, non-negotiable).

Founder & CEO

Aqueelah R. Collier, LCSW-S

As Founder & COO, Kierra helped build Therapeutic Freedom TX around a simple belief: when someone needs more than weekly therapy, finding that support shouldn't feel like another battle.

A Doctor of Psychology and licensed clinical social worker and supervisor (PsyD, LCSW-S, RPT-S), she brings more than a decade of experience with children, teens, adults, and families, and — alongside Aqueelah — shapes the clinical vision behind every program.

Mental health wasn't always the plan: she set out to be a veterinarian until she met a child whose story she couldn't walk away from, and never looked back. "This is what I was called to do."

Off the clock, Kierra is a self-described hoot who believes there's always room for joy — happiest outside, traveling, or finding a reason to laugh (and she'll probably get you laughing, too).

Founder & COO

Dr. Kierra D. Lloyd, LCSW-S, RPT-S

Founded & run by the same hearts.

Leadership

Clinical & Medical Team

The people you'll actually see.

Dr. Sehdev leads the medical side of your care. A psychiatrist trained at Wayne State University and Detroit Medical Center with a decade of experience treating depression, anxiety, and PTSD, he's fully trained in psychopharmacology — but he doesn't treat medication as the finish line.

"I view medication as a temporary scaffold — something to stabilize you and create the mental space to do the deeper, holistic work of healing."

His mission is to reduce the stigma around mental health. Off the clock, he's learning golf and in the gym.

Medical Director

Dr. Surin Sehdev, MD

Klaus handles medication management with a whole-person lens. As a psychiatric nurse practitioner, he works with patients experiencing depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, and sleep and mood concerns — while always pairing the right medication with a real conversation.

"I treat the whole person, not just the diagnosis. When patients feel heard and respected, they engage — and they do better."

He's calm under pressure, easy to talk to, and (in his words) can out-pushup every one of his patients.

The Team

Supervised by Makea Sanders, LPC-S

Arielle Artist, LPC-Associate

Chavonn clients describe her as warm, professional, and easy to be heard by. A licensed clinical social worker supervisor with 16 years of experience, she draws on CBT, TF-CBT, and solution-focused work to help adults build practical skills and move toward what matters to them. She came to this field after watching a cousin get passed from provider to provider — and decided to become someone who actually listens and advocates.

"You don't have to have it all figured out to begin. Just showing up is enough."

Twizzlers, Italian food, and British TV keep her happy at the end of the day.

Adult Program Therapist

Chavonn Johnson, LCSW-S, LCDC-I, CCM

Arielle meets teens exactly where they are — no perfect words or plan required. A Licensed Professional Counselor Associate  with seven years in the field, she uses CBT, DBT, and Gestalt work to help young people manage overwhelming emotions and reconnect with themselves. She came to this work after seeing how untreated struggles ripple through families, driven by one belief:

"Therapy isn't about telling people who they should be — it's about helping them discover who they already are."

Off the clock you can catch her at the gym, weekly girls' game night, hanging with her cats, and playing the violin.

Teen Program Therapist

Khalil is often the first friendly voice you'll reach. He keeps the day-to-day running and helps people find their way in — no judgment, just help.

He brings an easygoing, insightful calm to the team, and he'll tell you himself that he's been to therapy too — so he understands the value of having support from both sides.

When he's off, he's at the lake with some music, or being a dad to his favorite person: his daughter.

Support

Small groups, real smiles, and people who remember your name — the opposite of a cold clinical waiting room. When the people who own the practice are the same ones in the room, care stops feeling like a transaction.
